About the Date attribute (and deletion/restoration) #2083
|
When deleting and restoring a picture the date attribute is reset to the current time and day. In the recycle bin, it actually still shows the correct original timestamp. So, it seems like the restoration process resets/ignores this. This happens most of the time, but once or twice a quick restoration actually caused the picture to keep its timestamp. I'm not very knowledgeable regarding picture metadata and how android or aves handles it. What exactly causes this deviation? And how could I prevent the date being changed when restoring a picture? P.S.: This is an old problem I've had for years. Whenever I switched to a newer phone, I encountered this issue. I think depending on the tool I used to transfer the images, the metadata was either reset (the images were treated as newly created ones) or (mostly) kept. |

Ok, I've had a wild idea about that: I could create a recycle bin folder myself and empty it with a scheduled MacroDroid macro. Would it be possible to give an option just like the recycle bin to move the chosen items to a pre-selected folder? It should be available in quick actions and the folder should be accessible via the navigation menus, even if empty. To mimick the functionality of the internal recycle bin. Or alternatively, an option to change the functionality of the recycle bin by adding the move-into-folder option instead of moving it into an app-intern trash. I'm aware this is very specific. But maybe something can be made of it. Appreciate it! |
