Search shortcut (S key) does not respect keyboard layout #1003

I would like the previous behaviour as I use an alternative keyboard layout (colemak) so it is confusing that the S key is actually R on colemak

A configurable option such as use-layout that reverts to the previous behaviour before Zykairotis@399736f , which is disabled by default (current behaviour) is a solution.
