Japanese and Simplified Chinese editions are available for 16 final polished books, alongside the English originals. Read each language independently in PDF, or select aligned language layers in Bunko.
New translated PDFs use 1.2 × A5 paper (177.6 × 252 mm), with 12 pt text, clear spacing, equations and original figures. The older “pocket 1.2x” files refer to enlarged type, not this paper size.
We are expanding this multilingual library. Help with additional languages, scientific proofreading, accessibility or layout: open an issue or contribute a source-backed correction. More languages are planned, not yet published.

This archive brings Leonard Susskind lecture subtitles, timestamped transcripts, editable TeX notes, and published PDFs together by course. It covers the Theoretical Minimum sequence and supplementary lectures.
Read on a phone: Bunko's web reader provides the 19 independently edited English companion books, with equations and figures. The final polished editions add selectable Japanese and Chinese layers through the downloadable catalogue; no separate book import is required. These are LazyingArt companion notes, not Susskind-authored or endorsed books.
🛠️ The reusable download, transcription, and notes pipeline lives in Video2Book, included here as a submodule.
Repository status: lachlanchen/leonardsusskind is the canonical repository. chenmiaomiao/leonardsusskind is a temporary legacy mirror planned for deprecation; use the canonical repository for clones, issues, and pull requests.
Edition note: timestamped transcripts are machine-generated and may contain recognition errors. The compiled books are independently edited, AI-assisted companion notes reconstructed from transcripts and blackboard frames; they are not exact transcripts, original Susskind manuscripts, or lecturer-endorsed editions. The editorial revision log records source and figure provenance chapter by chapter.
📷 Preview covers are sourced from each course PDF's first page so root README and website cards always match the actual published text and layout.
📱 Pocket-size / penguin editions are also published for finished books: Pocket-size 1.0x and Pocket-size 1.2x. These compact builds are tuned for comfortable reading on 10-inch e-ink devices and iPad-class screens.

The transcript, subtitle, and generated-note trees share the same hierarchy: core/ or supplementary/, then subject, course run, and lecture. A generated course normally contains chapters/, figures/, course.tex, and the merged course.pdf.
English is the canonical README. Translations are maintained in i18n/ and may follow the English revision shortly afterward.

- Correct physics terms, speaker attribution, and timestamps in
subtitles/ormarkdown/. - Refine derivations, prose, typography, and cross-references in
generated_course_notes/. - Verify extracted frames, reconstruct blackboard equations, or redraw diagrams in TikZ.
- Improve provenance and connect related lectures, books, and historical note sets.
Keep each contribution focused, identify the exact course and lecture changed, and include source timestamps or build evidence where relevant.
- Leonard Susskind for the original lectures and teaching.
- LazyingArt LLC for repository curation and publication tooling.
- Simon Crase and the
weka511/tmproject for the imported companion notes. - La Passerelle and André Cabannes for older general relativity, cosmology, and statistical mechanics note sets preserved here. See the provenance record.

Japanese and Simplified Chinese editions are produced from the accepted final English companion TeX only. These are AI-assisted translations, not lecturer-endorsed editions. Equations and original board figures are preserved; labels within them remain as in the English source. A download is marked available only after complete segment coverage, a clean build, outline/overflow checks, and sampled semantic review.
