On same-host redirects the -H cookies were sent twice, because net/http already copies the Cookie header. Custom cookies the request already has are now skipped. Closes #2696.

Walkthrough

Redirect handling now reapplies authentication strategies for each redirect URL. Custom cookies are restricted to the original host or its subdomains, and duplicate cookie names are not added. An integration test checks credential behavior across cross-host and same-host redirects.

Changes

Redirect credential handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Reapply authentication on redirects
common/httpx/httpx.go, runner/runner.go
The request context stores a callback for redirect authentication. For each redirect, the callback removes initially changed authentication headers and applies strategies that match the new URL.
Scope cookies and verify redirect behavior
common/httpx/httpx.go, runner/redirect_credentials_test.go
Custom cookies are added only for the original host or a subdomain. Existing cookie names are preserved. The integration test checks that credentials are absent on another host and appear once after a same-host redirect.

Explanation

Issue #2696 is closed and supplies historical context only. No active directly linked issue supplies coding requirements. The PR addresses the related duplicate-cookie behavior with setCustomCookies and regression tests, but that work is not required for this assessment.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes remain within redirect credential handling. common/httpx/httpx.go avoids adding a configured cookie when the request already contains the same cookie name. The added tests cover same-host, cross-host, inbound redirects, and same-name cookie handling. No unrelated changes appear in the reviewed scope.

Outside diff Delete secret headers by their exact map keys.

2819-2823: Major · Security & Privacy · Quick win

Delete secret headers by their exact map keys.

HeadersAuthStrategy.Apply preserves the secret file's spelling, so x-api-key remains a literal map key. changedHeaders records that key. On a redirect, next.Header.Del("x-api-key") canonicalizes the argument to X-Api-Key, leaving the lower-case entry in place. Go copies and writes that entry, so the credential can reach a host outside its configured domain.

Suggested fix
 		for _, name := range headers {
-			next.Header.Del(name)
+			delete(next.Header, name)
 		}

Review comment at @runner/runner.go around lines 2819 - 2823:
Update the redirect header cleanup in the `changedHeaders` loop to delete each
entry by its exact map key, rather than using `Header.Del`, which canonicalizes
the key. Preserve the subsequent `LookupURL` and `Apply` flow.
